Chest Unveils Auction Theme
January 31, 2008
The highly anticipated Community Chest auction returns on April 5th, featuring a “Wheel of Philanthropy” theme to highlight the 33 human service organizations supported through local donations. In addition to the gala event, everyone in the community is invited to participate this year in the Chest’s first-ever online auction beginning on March 10th when dozens of exciting items will be available to bid on from the comfort of your home or office. Visit the auction at www.cccommunitychest.cmarket.com to view items and dates.
Profits from the auction help supplement the Chest's annual campaign which in turn supports an abundance of charities and human services throughout Concord and Carlisle. These agencies address critical problems such as domestic violence, hunger, homelessness, teen safety, education and other social, medical and legal issues.
The "Wheel of Philanthropy" auction includes international vacation homes, local restaurants and sporting events, as well as custom jewelry, photography, private lessons and entertainment. With more than 100 items, there is something for everyone to bid on.
On April 5th, the gala evening will commence with cocktails, a silent auction and two raffles. An elegant four-course dinner will then lead to a live auction of top items by professional auctioneer Douglas W. Stinson. The winners will go home with wonderful items, many of which have been donated by generous board members, overseers, volunteers and local merchants. Only 350 gala tickets will be sold and orders are now being accepted.
The Community Chest is proud to partner with these Presenting Sponsors that have made a significant contribution to the auction: Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation and Middlesex Savings Bank.
Additional corporate sponsors include: Adult & Pediatric Dermatology, Boston Private Bank, Braver, P.C., Cambridge Trust Co., Cassidy Retirement Group, Concord Bookshop, Concord Oil Company, Fritz & Gigi, H. Ivan Orup, Jr. D.M.D., Hayes Pump, Lacoste Gallery, McWalter Volunteer Insurance Agency, North Bridge Insurance Agency, Seamans Capital Management, Sorrento’s, Spaulding Management Corporation, Timothy Wheeler House of Concord, Verrill Farm, West Concord Five and Ten.
